FAQs

Where do you source your items?

We scour the globe looking for unique vintage garms - most of our items are one-off pieces and will be shipped in their true vintage form. We make regular trips overseas and find some of our best pieces in little corners of the US and Europe. Occasionally, we’ll unearth multiples of one specific item. However, we can’t guarantee when this will happen as most of our pieces are one-offs.

I work in wardrobe, can you source me a specific item?

We’d be happy to try. Lots of our hand-picked vintage pieces have been picked up by wardrobe departments and stylists for TV, film and print productions before - both in the UK and abroad. Some of our authentic vintage kidswear featured in an American series last year. We travel extensively (notably France, Eastern Europe and the States), which means we’re able to source authentic clothing rather than repro pieces. If you're a stylist, drop us a message before buying a piece as we could potentially loan a garment out for a shoot. The best thing to do is get in touch here and let us know what it is you’re after.

What’s the deal with sizing?

As with many pieces of vintage, the size on the label doesn’t necessarily match up with modern sizing. We include measurements in all listings and list an approximate size as a guide. We recommend that you check your personal measurements before purchasing a garment. All measurements are taken flat and we measure all pieces for fit using cms and inches:

Chest: from armpit to armpit

Inside arm seam: from armpit to cuff

Waist: narrowest part of item

Hips: widest part of item

Inside leg seam: from crotch to hem

Top length: from shoulder to hem

Boilersuit/dress length: from shoulder to hem

Skirt/Trouser length: from waist to hem

What condition will my vintage item be in?

Every piece is different and we do our best to list each item as accurately as possible. It’s really important to bear in mind that some of our garments are more than 30/40 years old and may show some signs of age, wear or have some imperfections/flaws. Have a read of our vintage condition guide below:

Deadstock/New Old Stock - vintage garments that haven’t been worn, sometimes with original tags/labels, sometimes pristine, sometimes a bit of surface dust.

VGUC - very good used condition, the item has been worn but isn’t showing any obvious signs of flaws and imperfections.

GUC - good used condition, the item has been worn, showing some signs of age and a couple of imperfections, might have been repaired.

FUC - (no, it’s not a typo ;)) fair used condition, showing obvious signs of wear and tear, age, flaws but still life left/wearable. We want to stop as much stuff ending up in landfill as possible!

What’s with the 80s Memphis vibe?

It’s an ode to Miami Vice and our favourite Black Mirror episode, San Junipero. Loads of our stock pay homage to this style… we live by the motto the brighter the better.
